ABOUT THE RECIPE 

The fluffy steamed bao really showcases the flavour of this Cantonese Char Siu. 

METHOD 

Cut pork into 2 pieces and add all ingredients into a large saucepan, mix well. Place saucepan over a high heat and bring to the boil, turn down to a gentle simmer, cover with a lid and cook for 4 hours. 
 
After 4 hours remove from heat and allow pork to cool in the sauce. 
 
Once cooled pull the pork into small pieces removing any extra fat. 
 
Serve in a fluffy steamed bao with lettuce, cucumber and spring onions. Enjoy!

1.2kg Pork Shoulder 
1 Tin Chinese Hoi Sin Sauce 
1 Tin Yellow Bean Sauce 
3 Star Anise 
2 Cinnamon Sticks 
2 tbsp Five Spice Powder 
2 tbsp Rice Wine 
1/2 cup Sugar 
1 ltr Chicken Stock 
Korean Steamed Bun
