French Toast

ABOUT THE RECIPE 

French toast is a delicious recipe made with eggs, milk, and bread. Serve this popular breakfast dish with honey, maple syrup or golden syrup and some lovely fresh fruit and berries. 

METHOD 

Break the eggs into a shallow dish. Add the milk and beat with a fork. 
 
Heat half the butter and oil in a frying pan over a medium heat until the butter melts. 
 
Dip a slice of bread in the egg mixture, making sure both sides are covered. Put in the pan. 
 
Cook for 2 minutes, then turn the toast over and cook for a further 2 minutes. Repeat for the other 3 slices of bread. 
 
Cut each slice in half and arrange them on a plate. Drizzle over your Honey or syrup and serve with a selection of fruit and berries. 

INGREDIENTS 

2 Medium Eggs 
75ml Milk 
25g Butter 
1 Tbsp Cooking Oil 
4 Thick Slices of Bread 

TO SERVE 

Honey, Golden Syrup or Maple Syrup 
A selection of fruit and berries 

KWOKLYN'S COOKING TIPS 

#1 Use a heavy bottom pan which will retain the heat. 
 
#2 Prep all ingredients before you start to cook. 
 
#3 Always make a little too much as all of these recipes will have you going back for more.
