Rainbows are delighted to announce celebrity chef Kwoklyn Wan as our newest patron.
Kwoklyn grew up in his parent's Chinese restaurants in Leicester with his sister, Oilen, and brother, Gok. Although he is a trained martial arts instructor, Kwoklyn has been cooking for most of his life and has written best-selling Chinese recipe books and fronted TV cooking shows.

Visiting our hospice just before lockdown, Kwoklyn was so moved by the care and support provided to our children, young people and their families, he wanted to get on board.

As one of our Patrons, Kwoklyn will be supporting us in various ways and says he has lots of plans to be involved with our charity on a regular basis. His first project will be to host a course of cooking sessions for our young people, where they will prepare and cook with him via Zoom.

Kwoklyn said: “The support and care that the Rainbows team offer to these brave young people and their families is truly breathtaking to witness and I feel honoured to be invited to spend time with the Youth Group at our monthly cooking sessions. I hope to continue working closely with the charity to help not only raise vital funds but also a greater awareness of the fantastic service that the Rainbows facility and its staff provide.”

Our Chief Executive Dee Sissons added: “To have Kwoklyn on board as our newest Patron is very exciting. We are extremely happy he has pledged his support to us and we look forward to seeing what he cooks up. As ever, we are very grateful to all of our Patrons for the wonderful work they do for Rainbows and for promoting the charity all over the UK.”
