I'm totally loving my monthly events at "The Bar" and I can not thank my guests enough for joining me for these exclusive foodie get togethers.

Tickets for my Bao'tastic event sold out within a couple of weeks and it was so lovely to see so many familiar faces who have attended many of my events in the past.
John Alexander our resident acoustic guitarist was on fire as normal, playing a selection of firm favorites which had many guests singing along as they shoveled dumplings and fries into their mouths.

The atmosphere was relaxed, there's never any rush and the food comes out when it's ready, the diners chat in between courses as they sip on bottles of Chinese Beer and glasses of fizz.
I alway try and capture the events I host so it was with great joy that Adrian Dewey agreed to be our event photographer for the night, normally Adrian is flying around the world shooting beautiful people in exotic locations but on this very special night he was at my Bar shooting me!

Stephen Kings "IT"
We were joined by our first Hollywood Star in the shape of Jarred Blanchard who played Henry Bowers in Stephen Kings "IT" 1990, Michaelangelo in "The Teenager Mutant Ninja Turtles" and Jeffers in "The Crow", he and his lovely wife Fiona who hails from Leicester chowed down on Bao, Dumplings and Fries.

What did we eat?

Vegetable & Chicken Potstickers, (a by accident recipe originating from China in the Song Dynasty AD 960-1280) were served as an appetiser. The little dumplings are pan fried and then stock is added along with a lid allowing them to steam. Once the stock has evaporated the dumplings finish in the same pan, where you allow them to slightly burn forming a crispy caramelised bottom. To accompany these crispy, juicy and oh so aromatic mouth parcels I made a crunchy seasonal pickled veg and served the dumplings with a a choice of Spicy Hot Sriracha or Sweet Chilli Sauce.

The Sandwich Bao's were filled with shredded lettuce, cucumber batons, and thin carrot sticks, diners could choose between a Fried Panko Cod Fillet with Wasabi Mayo, my signature pulled Chinese Barbecued Pork or a Hot & Sour Tofu with Toasted Sesame Seeds all were served with a healthy portion of my Szechuan Spiced Fries.
My next event will be held on Saturday 14th September, the theme is Oodles of Noodles.
