#1 Road to Snowdon, Weight Loss and Surgery
9th August 2021
At the beginning of the year I'd noticed that I was getting a lot, and I mean a lot of pain in my back, hip and groin. So after many sessions with a Physio, Acupuncturist and a Chiropractor with no signs of it getting better I decided to contact my GP.
To my shock and horror after an X-Ray I found out that at 48 I had Severe Osteoarthritis and would need a Hip Replacement
But alas it wasn't that simple, to be eligible for surgery I'd have to lose 28kg first, which isn't easy when you're active let alone find it painful just walking around your local supermarket.
So here I am making videos of my journey of not only losing weight but also how I'm going to achieve my goal of trekking to the top of Mount Snowdon in Wales
My method of weight loss is Slimming World as it worked for me in the past.
Over the coming days and weeks i'll be sharing my food diary and recipes i've created or tweaked so i'm able to sty on plan keeping my SYNS down to a minimum.
I've decided not to do any weights while I’m trying to lose weight as at the moment my focus is getting the weight down. Concentrating on cardio and the specialist has suggest a recumbent bike. But until I buy one I’m breaking the rules and I’m going to cycle on my EBike, which oddly during the ride I have no pain at all. But after the ride. Then oh my it's very ouchy.
